The whole of the region comes to life in the summer months. Each town and village of our Podhale hosts fêtes, outdoor events and festivals - for example Festiwal Ziem Górskich (Mountain Areas Festival), which gives you an excellent chance to learn about folklore and cultures from all over the world. In Białka Tatrzańska they choose a Ceper and Ceperka and Harnaś of the Year (Ceper being a name given to incomers and non-locals by Tatra Highlander folk, similar to the way Highland Scots sometimes call the Lowlanders and the English Sassenach, Harnaś being a local dialect word for a leader of outlaws: think Robin Hood and you won't be too far off). Bukowina Tatrzańska sees the beginning of Sabałowe Bajania - [a storytelling and folk music event named after the most famous local historical storyteller Sabała]. The variety of attractions means that you won't get bored.
